Amy Lennox-Bowley
Founder - Consultant Audiologist
Amy Bowley is the Founder and Clinical Director of Hypatia Specialist Clinics and Hypatia Training, organisations dedicated to advancing excellence in audiology and neuro-vestibular care through innovative clinical services, education, research, and digital health. Her work focuses on improving patient outcomes while supporting the development of clinicians worldwide through evidence-based training, mentorship, and service development.
Amy serves on the Executive Committees of both the International Vestibular Society and Vertigo Academy International, and is the Vestibular Section Editor for ENT & Audiology News. Alongside her clinical practice, she mentors clinicians across NHS and independent healthcare services and provides specialist support for vestibular service development within the UK and internationally.
Her work spans clinical practice, education, research, digital therapeutics, and the development of vestibular diagnostic technologies. She is recognised as a key opinion leader within the medical technology sector, collaborating with manufacturers on the design and refinement of diagnostic equipment and helping translate clinical insight into products used in everyday practice. Amy is also the founder of VestiHeal, an innovative digital vestibular rehabilitation platform that integrates evidence-based rehabilitation, behavioural support, and remote patient monitoring to improve access to specialist care.
Her clinical and research interests include persistent dizziness, vestibular rehabilitation, visual vertigo, persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD), vestibular migraine, and digital health. She is currently researching novel approaches to the management of visual vertigo and is involved in several national and international collaborative research projects.
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Audiology in 2009, Amy began her career within the NHS before emigrating to Australia in 2011. There, she completed her Master's-equivalent training and became Head of Service in Queensland, leading audiology and vestibular services across both public and private healthcare sectors.
In 2012, Amy joined Otometrics as Clinical Lead for Australia, where she contributed to the research and development of the ICS Impulse video head impulse system and authored the company's interpretation guide for head impulse testing. During this time, she also founded the Vestibular Forum, an international multidisciplinary educational community supporting clinicians through collaboration, education, and knowledge exchange, while delivering vestibular and electrophysiology teaching at La Trobe and Flinders Universities.
Amy is a regular invited speaker at national and international conferences and lectures for Middlesex University and Edge Hill University. Her teaching combines the latest scientific evidence with practical clinical application, helping clinicians translate research into confident, compassionate, and patient-centred care.
Outside of her professional life, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son, gardening, and exploring the outdoors with her family.
Professor Soumit Dasgupta is an internationally recognised Consultant Audiovestibular Physician and Neurotologist with over 25 years of experience in Otorhinolaryngology and Audiovestibular Medicine. He is Clinical Lead of the Hypatia Dizziness & Balance Clinic in Liverpool and Clinical Lead for Paediatric Audiology at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
Widely regarded as a leader in vestibular medicine, Professor Dasgupta specialises in the diagnosis and management of dizziness, balance disorders, hearing loss, tinnitus, vestibular migraine, and other complex neuro-otological conditions in both adults and children.
Alongside his clinical practice, he holds several prestigious academic appointments, including Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of Siena, Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester, and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. He is also Secretary of Vertigo Academy International and Education and Academic Hallpike Secretary for the British Association of Audiovestibular Physicians.
Professor Dasgupta has published extensively, lectures internationally, and is recognised worldwide for his contributions to audiovestibular medicine.

Ciara Clugston
Ciara Clugston has been an integral part of Hypatia Specialist Clinics since January 2022, playing a key role in the growth and development of the business. As Executive Assistant and Clinic Coordinator, she is the first point of contact for all clinic and training enquiries, ensuring patients, healthcare professionals, and legal clients receive a professional and friendly service.
Working closely with Mrs Amy Lennox-Bowley and Professor Soumit Dasgupta, Ciara oversees the day-to-day running of the clinics, coordinating appointments, managing patient pathways, and supporting the delivery of specialist clinical services.
Known for her approachable nature and exceptional organisational skills, Ciara enjoys building strong relationships and is always happy to assist with any enquiries.
