Dizziness can have many causes — from inner ear issues to neurological or cardiovascular factors. Our goal is simple:
Understand your symptoms, find the cause, and start treatment straight away.
During your 1-hour consultation at our Rodney Street Clinic in Liverpool, you will:
1. Medical History & Symptom Review

Your clinician, Mrs Amy Lennox-Bowley, will listen to your symptoms in detail.

We’ll review your medical history and any previous dizziness or balance episodes.

This helps us identify possible causes and triggers.
2. Physical Examination
-
We’ll check your balance, coordination, reflexes, and eye movements.

Your blood pressure may also be assessed.
3. Positional Testing (Dix–Hallpike Maneuver)
-
BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) is the most common cause of dizziness — and is treatable.

This simple test moves your head into different positions to confirm BPPV.

If confirmed, we treat it immediately during your consultation.
4. Diagnosis & Next Steps
If your dizziness is not caused by BPPV, Amy will:

Explain her clinical findings.

Recommend one of the following:
a) Vestibular Testing

Advanced testing at our Rodney Street vestibular laboratory or via NHS referral.

Tests take 2–3 hours and cost £600–£850 privately.

We can write to your GP to arrange NHS testing if suitable.
b) Onward Referral

For scans or other specialists as needed.
5. Treatment Plan

We always start some form of treatment during your consultation — even if further tests are required.

For many patients, this is the only intervention needed.
6. Monitoring

We check in for 4 weeks after your consultation to track progress.

If symptoms persist, we may recommend more intensive therapy or further referral.
